The lines are reminiscent of those of the BMW 1250 GS.
The engine is an 853 cc parallel twin-cylinder gear front, as in the 750 GS but the horsepower is an impressive 95 at 6000 rpm.
Torque is 92 NM, close to that of the boxers.
The perimeter frame is steel anchored to the engine.
Spoked wheels for tubeless tires with pressure sensors, three BREMBO disc brakes with "cornering ABS" system, wide handlebars with hand guards, and overall dimensions grown from that of the F 800 GS.
The 21" front rim has the usual gyroscopic effect but is stupendously compensated for by the great stability and ergonomics both on the fast and the narrow mix.
The BMW F 850 GS is the ideal motorcycle for two-wheeled touring enthusiasts who seek high performance, comfort and versatility on any terrain. It provides a safe and satisfying riding experience, even in the most demanding conditions.
The center of gravity is now lower than before, the SHOWA suspension works perfectly in all conditions, the body cover is functional even above 130 km/h, the ride is smooth, and the position is typical of large crossovers with a very comfortable seat for both rider and passenger.
The original panniers supplied are the same as those on the 1250 GS.
It is equipped with an anti-skid system, color TFT dashboard and full LED headlights and lights.
It rides reminiscent of the 1200GS but with about 30 kg less, and fuel consumption is record-breaking, the company points out 4 liters per 100 km.
The steering is equipped with a shock absorber, and now you don't need to be at least 180 cm tall with the equipment of the optional saddles, which are 81 to 86 cm high from the ground: if you are 170 cm tall, you can touch your two feet comfortably on the ground
